Challenge

As privately funded medical facilities, every detail needed to adhere to strict guidelines and performance requirements developed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).

Solution

McShane Mechanical is founded and owned by a veteran, Phil McShane, who has extensive experience working within USACE structure and for the Veterans Administration medical facilities. We drew upon our experience to create a cost-effective and efficient mechanical system that not only met project requirements but surpassed them.

Process

We used Autodesk Revit to create 3D building information models (BIMs) and cross-reference our designs against USACE standards to gain approval from the military.

Thanks to experience working with the USACE, U.S. Department of Veterans Affars, United States Armed Forces and federal agencies like the General Services Administration and Social Security Administration, we were able to get up to speed quickly and meet exacting requirements.

Results

Our design build and design assist services helped the Military Health System build three National Intrepid Center of Excellence locations to continue their research and treatment of traumatic brain injury and brain health, a topic that affects countless veterans every year.
